One Flaw In Women By the time the Lord made woman, He was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?" And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart -and she will do everything with only two hands." The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model? That's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish." "But I won't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days." The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord." "She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish." "Will she be able to think?", asked the angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate." The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one." "That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, "that's a tear!" "What's the tear for?" the angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride." The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing." And she is! Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colours. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give. HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

More teenage woe`s

Momma`s in the bad books again... Not with anyone in my family but with Joshua`s girlfriend... She told one too many lies to me and today was the last straw... You see Joshua came home sick today from school...Some stomach bug...So that was ok but what wasn`t ok was he had a tag along...His girlfriend...I was told she wasn`t feeling well either and supposedly her mother knew... Yeah right!!!!...It worked the first time you told me this but i`ve wisened up to your little game.... So I tried to ring the mother all to no avail....Next best thing was an sms....The mother eventually rang me after she had finished work and she was furious... No , no not with me...Phew !!! With her daughter and my son.... She had no idea that this was going on...Apparently the mother has been having alsorts of problems with her daughter (lying, dis-respect) you know , all the normal stuff when dealing with teenagers.... The mother and I had a good talk and it seems that both these kids are dragging each other down especially when it comes to their school work..It`s basically non existent...If they put as much effort into their schooling as what they did their relationship we would have some pretty smart kids on our hands.... Remember we are dealing with 14 year olds here and the way they are carrying on any one would think they were in their 20`s.... So her mother has made a stand...She is taking her daughter out of the school which they both attend together...Hopefully putting some space between the two of them...They need to have other friends other than each other and both of us as parents think it`s unhealthy for the two to be spending as much time as they are together especially because of their age.... The girlfriend has been on the phone to Joshua tonight again ( this is a nightly ritual) and she reckons I don`t like her...Little does she realise I did this for her own good....Hopefully she will thank me for it down the track... In the meantime I won`t hold my breath...lol

Entering a big event

My boy certainly did get eaten alive whilst out fishing the other day....At last count it was 85 mosquito bites on his arms and legs and is he suffering....I`ve covered him in cream to alleviate the itchiness but he is still scratching to the point of bleeding...Unfortunately he is alot like me when it comes to those wretched mossie bites.... He has a big day tomorrow as he is competing in SAPSASA....Never has he shown an interest in playing or getting involved in this kind of activity but this year he has been keen.... He is competing in the shot put event....Also possibly the 100 metre run....He is so excited he has allocated time off school for Joshua and Krystal to attend the event much to my amazment...lol.... So it will be up early tomorrow to get him prepared....At least the weather will be cool for the day... Have a great week...

A day of rest (highly unusual for me)

I did the unthinkable today... Absolutely nothing.... Everyone else in the family was outside being busy and here little old me sat on the computer (which I may add I haven`t done in sometime) and played games.... Matt was out doing the hedging and stumbled across a european wasps nest....Did he know about it...The buggars came flying out at him and he was stung on the hand by one.... He was in severe pain for at least an hour from the sting....Geez they are nasty pieces of work... We had a visit from the older two kids father this afternoon... No one has seen or been able to get in contact with him for the past 2 months....He had his phone turned off deliberately as he seems to think he is being followed by an unknown person...He caught someone taking photo`s of him so now he has become some what paranoid that he is being stalked.... In actual fact he probably has good reason for being this way as he does hang with the wrong sorts of people....I really don`t like the idea that he comes to our place if this is the case as you just never know what can happen.... The visit was short thank goodness as once I heard of what he has been up too I started to feel a bit nervous and wanted him gone....We probably won`t see him again for another 2 months.... It`s a good thing that my two kids are old enough to not fret about their dad...They are too busy with their own lives these days and with such a busy social life they don`t really miss him....Infact they are both out tonight on sleepovers....So just the young man home tonight and he is busy playing his playstation.... I did indulge myself today with a couple of pieces of TOBLERONE....I bought Matt some for Easter and he kindly shared with me....Oh well it won`t hurt the diet too much.... That`s what i`ll keep telling myself...lol...

The last 3 days there has been a butting of heads going on between my teenage son and myself, who is going to be the leader of the pack... It hasn`t been a pretty sight...I`m at a loss on which way to tackle him....He totally dis -respects me and the rules I have in place, yet expects to still be paid an allowance.... I don`t think i`ve been too strict as all the kids have chores to be done ....It`s your general clean up after yourself and the main one is to have a clean room... Well my son thinks he is above the call of duty and he would rather live in a pig stye...That`s all good and well but when the pig stye begins to smell like one and the stench is wafting under the door and into the rest of the house that`s when I draw the line.... I`ve been burning incense at an all time rate to rid the smell..... He comes home from school, goes to his room, comes out to get his tea (when he is ready), then takes his meal into his room...Leaves his plate cups and any other peice of crockery in there for up to a week....Totally ignores me when I ask him to bring out his dishes....Then when the girlfriend rings he dashes out of his room gets the phone and then its back to the room for the rest of the evening... This has been going on for too long so last night was the last straw for me...After an hour of being on the phone I asked him to rap it up....15 minutes later he was still on the phone...Again I said to him say your goodbyes please as you still have this room to clean....10 minutes later I walked into the abyss of a room and he was still on the phone...I saw red as you can imagine...Told Krystal I was sorry for what i`m about to do...Said to her give me 5 minutes please...She sat there dumb founded as I went to the phone connection on the wall and pulled the plug.... So what happens his mobile rings and it`s the girlfriend again....This time Krystal saw red and told him off...He said it`s his phone and he pays for the credit so he can do what he wants when he wants with his phone...Grrrr... So the room still didn`t get done.... Then I find out this morning that he will be going to his nana`s after school and asking her if he can stay with her for a few days....All because i`m trying to put a bit of discipline into his life....Let`s just say it won`t be happening....He is a monster of a child who thinks when the tough gets going he can walk away from the problem....His father may have done that but i`ll be damed if he thinks I will let him do the same thing....

EASTER HERE ALREADY

It`s that time of year again...Where does the time go????
Well I went out and finalised the easter egg shopping today...I didn`t go overboard this year much to my surprise...And I have resisted the urge of buying myself an easter chocky or two...However a few prawns won`t go astray...Oh and the tartare sauce...mmmmm can taste it now..Roll on Good Friday....lol...
Not much happening over this break...Krystal is working Saturday and Sunday so we`ll probably just go visit some of Matt`s family....
Over the past week i`ve had to deal with centrelink as Krystal in turning 16 in the near future...So it`s on to youth allowance for her...I thought I`d go into one of their offices today to grab a claim form but the man I spoke with said it`s much easier and faster if you do it online...Soon we won`t be needing pen and paper....It`ll be phased out, a thing of the past..lol...
Whatever your plans over this easter holiday have a happy and safe break....
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Only one more day to get through this heat wave....Cool change expected to pass through tonight thank goodness....The kids treked off to school today after not having much in the way of sleep last night...Even though we had the air con on it was still a warm night....Daniel is suffering from having blood noses and naturally the world is coming to an end when it happens...lol
Yesterday the kids and I braved the heat and went out to my ex in laws for a BBQ lunch...It ended up being more tea than lunch as it was just too hot to go outside and cook...It was a lovely afternoon where lots of food was consumed and also lot`s of cool drink....I made sweets and decided to take Brandy Snaps and they were certainly snapped up....It was a nice change to have someone else cook a meal...For some reason it always tastes that much better....
I was able to catch up with alot of friends that I hadn`t seen for nearly 20 years...They reckon I hadn`t changed a bit...Not sure whether that was a good thing or not...lol...
Well just counting down the hours now till the cool weather...Take care and have a great week....Oh and Have a good ST PATRICKS DAY!!!!!

A bit of everything

Let`s just say there are going to be a few nervous people come this May budget....It seems that the government are waivering also through the pressure of the small people being up in arms about abolishing the pensioners and carers anual bonus....It`s going to be an interesting next few months until D DAY....
.................
On the home front it`s been a rather trying month...Matt`s health has been up and down....He has been having alot of seizures especially one`s in his sleep....I believe alot of it has to do with this rotten bloody weather we`ve been enduring and what`s worse is there is no end in sight....Come on Autumn we need you to show yourself.....Finally Matt has come to terms that he is suffering with a slight case of depression... let`s face it, with what he goes through who wouldn`t!!!!...So now he has asked to be placed on anti-depressants and even though it is early days it seems to be working....His mood swings are less frequent and now I can finally talk to him without him taking things the wrong way..Phew thank goodness for that...lol
....................
We had a surprise visit from Matt`s youngest daughter yesterday.....It seems she is going very well with her job and going places in it....She also has met a lovely man who we met yesterday and they both seem happy together...So much so that they are living together....We did find out that Matt`s daughter had a bit of an altercation with the eldest daughter....They had what I call a typical sister punch up....lol...Not funny really as the youngest one came out second best so it seems...Two black eyes and a hell of a lot of bruises....The youngest daughter is not at all happy with the eldest one and she was meant to be one of the brides maids in her wedding...She basically told her where to shove her wedding and find someone else....I did try and tell her that things will calm down and they`ll both work their differences out but at this stage she (the youngest) isn`t quite ready to be at that stage yet....Dad wants to mediate but i`ve told him it`s best if they work things out themselves...
.....................
Well that`s about it for today...I have Daniel home on a pupil free day today and he is bored, bored , bored...lol...Best be off before he does something i`ll regret....Have a great week everyone....

And so it begins

Good on you Mr Rudd....You have now crippled those people who choose to save your government millions of dollars a year by staying at home and caring for their sick relatives, rather than having them placed in homes....You pay them back by scraping the $1600 a year that they solely rely on to make ends meet.....Yep you sure are looking after the carer`s of Australia....I`d like to see you or anyone in your government walk in their shoes for a day and see how you cope financially . mentally and physically....A job well done Mr Rudd.

When is this heat going to end

March already...I can`t believe how quickly the time is flying...It`s been a horrible week weather wise here..Stinking hot and it`s only getting worse....Hottest March in 68 years...Bloody weather, i`m so over it....The heat got to Krystal and Daniel today , so much so that when they got home from school tonight they both passed out and slept for hours.....
I had a trying afternoon yesterday when I had to pick Daniel up from school....The car decided it wasn`t going to take us home...Fantastic....Here we are stranded at school trying to work out what was wrong with the car.....I ended up having to ring my ex father in law god bless him and he came to our rescue...Turns out the battery terminal was dirty and loose , even though that was the first thing I checked.....An hour later we were home in the cool.....We are in the RAA but guess whose name it`s in...Yep hubby`s and he wasn`t with me...So typical...lol....It had to happen though because I had a specialists appointment straight after picking Daniel up from school....Obviously I wasn`t meant to go.....
How about Andrew Symonds, god I love him....I reckon he`ll make an excellent rugby player...lol....If the ICC had of fined him for his great hip and shoulder tackle i`m pretty sure the Australian public would have been up in arms....Personally me, well I would have used the bat on the idiot....The weather must have made the spectators a bit loopy that night as it was the second person to have run out onto the pitch that night....A nail biting game in the end...
