Things didn`t go the way I wanted them too

I thought I would get to the doctors first thing this morning so I took off not waking hubby or the boy...
How I wish I had taken hubby with me....
It was decided a dressing change was needed...I got myself a free arm wax removing a shit load of hair...
Feels lovely and smooth now..lol
That I could handle but when it came to removing the bandage where the burn was well let`s say that was a different ball game altogether...
The blister broke and there was now dead skin everywhere....
That meant cutting away the skin and whilst all this was happening I was putting on a brave face thinking to myself "hurry the you know what up"....
I`m usually pretty good in hiding my pain...Not one to make a fuss but what came next was un bloody believable....
The nurse was about to put some lotion on the burn to clean it and I was thinking wonderful, something to cool down this burning feeling....
The worst is finally over....
Geez was I kidding myself or what !!!
I nearly jumped out of the chair...
My god it was like the whole of my arm had been doused in kerosene and lit with a match...
Tears rolled down my face uncontrollably all the while, here I am still trying to hide the fact that this was sheer hell....
The poor nurse could see my reaction and she kept telling me how brave I was...
Her words were not consoling me one little bit...
I just wanted to get the hell out of there and go home..
Driving home was a nightmare as the burnt arm is the one I use to change the gears with...
Finally home and taking some pain relief i`m starting to feel human again..
I really feel for these burn victims and what they must be going through...
I know mine is nothing compared to some of them but I can now relate to just some of the pain that they feel...
Now I don`t have to go back until Tuesday and if I have any say in the matter i`ll be leaving the dressing put until It`s absolutely necessary for it to come off...
Yes the chicken in me has emerged..lol

  1. Oh Mandy you poor dear I wonder if you had started yelling and swearing what the nurse would have said......lol

It can be really annoying when they tell you how brave you are when all you want to do is hit something and yell and carry on like a kid. At times being an adult can suck kids can away with yelling and carrying on.

When I get a reminder of how painful a burn is I think about all those poor burn victims in burn wards around the world, what hell they must go through.

I hope the rest of your Easter is better.

  2. Argh!!! That made me go all goose pimply. I can't stand any pain. You are brave not to have said anything and then drive home after the trauma. Better luck next time. Have a good weekend.

  6. Hi Mandy Easter Sunday.
About the most badest memory I have of a burn is riding my bike home as a kids and a big blow fly
landed on my burn and walked around. It hurt like someone rubbed in a bee sting.
At church today the whole church covered the cross in flowers today.
That's a very large burn you got there! I think drinking rum and coke would numb your whole body
and then you pass out. All needed all good. I played xbox360 today twice, I made the game more normal
By playing with a rusty axe it's as blunt as hell but the game seems more life like.
The game I'm taking about is fable 2. Today I got sick of killing for a living. So instead I have been choping
wood for money and playing in game slot mashines and they pay good jackpots too. I trade money in for Experince.
I buy experince from the tempole of light. In the fable 2 game I play for 30 or 60 minits and kids come up to me and
they want to have a online chat or they want me to play in there game so I can help them out. It feels good to be useful.
I admite having three 13 year olds carry on like ten year olds get a bit too much after 3 hours of noice. lol.
As I walk from town to town I can here all the other online players trading with each other and we get the odd kid
singing to himself. I personaly don't try to wear or use the best and most powerful stuff as everyone want me to give
them my equipment. cya next time. get well soon.
