It`s no wonder parents wrap their kids in cotton wool these days

Hello everyone, i hope you have all been keeping well...
The weather still hasn`t changed any and basically i`ve
just been sitting in front of the air conditioner and watching the cricket...
C`MON AUSSIE`S
We did have a bit of action last night which I could have done without..
I was minding my own business watering the pot plants when I heard a commotion going on at the park...
Both my boy`s were over there at the time talking to a couple of lads that they knew...
Next minute there was a loony chasing after these lads for whatever reason I don`t know....
They took off over the bridge and my two boys started to walk home....
Next minute this crazed person starts after Joshua through no fault of his own....All because he knew these lads the other one thought he would take on Josh...Little did he realise there were a few of the neighbours out watching what was happening...
Joshua started to jog and then this other one started to run after him...My neighbour ran towards him telling him to back off then we heard someone scream
"Watch out he has a knife"...
OMG !!!!!
So everyone who had mobile phones were on to the police straight away...
It didn`t take them long to get here and then we find out that this maniac is actually a drug dealer....
I tell you the neighbourhood has gone down hill....
One street away from us that`s all that live down there...
Drug dealers....
It was just lucky that there were a heap of the neighbours out last night and we all watch out for each others kids as our street is fairly family orientated...
Usually I won`t let the kids out front unless one of us being Matt or myself are out there....
You just don`t know what`s lurking out there....
I`m not sure if they got the guy but the police knew where he lived and everyone gave a good description of what he looked like and what he was wearing....
I tell you the streets just aren`t safe anymore....

  1. Yep!
    Thats REALLY scary!
I would wrap mine in cotton wool.... if I could! but I just try to limit the dangers... pretty hard when there are crazy people who just attack anyone!!
I'm so glad to hear that the boys are safe!
    Have a great holiday!

  2. Yes it is awful when you don't feel safe letting them out the front unless your there to keep an eye on them.

What is worse is that often kids don't understand about the danger and think you are being a fuss pot.

  5. Hi Sassy...

I`m not sure what it`s like where you live but here all you see is teenagers and their crews....Gangster kids like in America...It`s bloody sickening...

Hope you`ve been keeping well and trying to stay sane over the holidays...lol

  9. Hello Mandy,
OOOOOO not nice at all. I am please my sons are adults.
Just don't know who is lurking about, do you!
It sad when you think of it, that you let your children go to the park, thinking they will be safe and look what nearly happened.
As Sassy said, Gangster kids, like in America.
    Thank goodness for lovely neighbours.
    Take care,
    Margaret

  11. Hi Mandy,

That's shocking. I thought that Sydney is bad but it sounds like it isn't any safer in Adelaide. Like Margaret, I'm glad that my kids are all grown up but then now there's the grand kids.

I guess we'll all just have to sit inside and watch the cricket.....hehehehehe. C'mon Ozzies.

  12. OMG..glad the kids are OK..how are the boys aboutit all??

according to the news we have street gangs in Newcastle and its not the best place late nights now..

It is everywhere..what can you do?? you still have to live and let your kids outside on occasion.

you are lucky your street is family orientated and sounds reasonably friendly..
